100-150g Sport to Chunky weight yarn.
The brim uses about 2/3 of the yarn, so if you choose a contrasting color/yarn you may need an extra ball. Also, the brim & crown yarn should have the same recommended gauge.

16” circular needle & double points
in the size recommended for your yarn.

crochet hook in a similar size to your needles.

A few yards of waste yarn in a size close to your yarn, but in a contrasting color.

6 stitch markers, one should be noticeably different for your beginning of round marker.

This is a fun little hat that helps you obtain that illusive perfect fitting hat. The brim is knit side to side. Then stitches are picked up and the crown is knit. I keep knitting this hat over and over. It just makes this cozy thick layer over my ears and ends up the perfect size every time!
